SCMR Butterfly

I recently purchased The Shuttle Brothers "Tatting the Self-Closing Mock Ring for GR-8 Design". It is a wonderful book with lots of good illustrations and well written. I have been learning how to do the SCMR for the past couple of months using Jane Eborall's excellent instructions. I was so happy with my butterfly until I started to close the ring and the thread broke. I did get the ring close but there is a bump of threads in the beginning of the close. Another motif for the pile! I was using Lizbeth #110 Desert Bloom size 20. Perhaps I am tatting to tight??

Tea Pot

I have finished my tatted teapot. Many thanks to Gina Brummett who suggested to add an extra ds on both sides of the center p. I made two centers and they both bowed up to fit a doll's head, adding the extra ds it lies flat. I used Lizbeth size 20 and it fits on a small, glass door knob magnet for the fridge. The pattern is from the booklet, "Tea is for Tatting" by Martha Ess. There are many beautiful teapots with advance techniques to learn.

CQ Card for Mother

Mother is celebrating
her 87th Birthday and she is a very active lady. She loves homemade cards. This one is done by machine. I have a sewing machine with only 12 stitches and would love to have more stitches but it works. I went to OK a week ago and helped her celebrate. We went on a mini trip (100 Miles) and visited Woods & Waters Winery and Vineyard in Anadorka. It is the largest Winery in OK. It was a fun and enjoyable trip.

Crazy Quilt Cards

Finished a Birthday Card for my sister and a Card for a dear friend going in the hospital for back surgery. These are fun cards to hand embroider and a good place to put those bits of tatting.

Easter Egg

Finally finished the Easter Egg. I glued the tatting on the top and bottom because it just slid all over. The beads were added to the tatting using beading thread.
