cq, doily, motifs and Ketchikan AK

Doily finished from Catherine Austin's book, "A New Twist on Tatting". It is tatted in size 20 purple/white variegated.

Block is almost completed, basket is filled with silk ribbon flowers and ladybug buttons are flying around. Mary Corbet had a nice chain-beaded seam tutorial this week. It is along the green and easy to do.

Hooked rug flowers are finished. Waiting for wool from Dorr Mills to dye grey to hook the edges.

Pickin cherries, have 10 1/2 pts in the freezer and more to pick.

These guys have devoured the dill. I harvested and dried  the dill weed earlier and save the rest for the Monarch butterflies.  No comparison to store bought and easy to grow.

I purchase some motifs from sewvictoriacrazy.etsy.com   She is going out of business and has a sale.  Very nice motifs and ready to join Kathy Shawkl's   dying class.

The recent plane crash in Ketchikan, Ak was in the Misty Fjords where we took many trips on the wkend. The first picture is Eddy Rock, awesome, right in the middle of the water. Next is Wilson Lake flying in for a week's stay at Cabin. Sean and Dick unloading and pilot getting ready to take off. Last picture is Ella Lake, Linda and Dick catching trout. Back in the 80's the pilots, loaded with tourists would bee balm us ...Here are the Natives!! We go remote places for peace and quite and get away from the 4-5 tourist ships every day. Many lakes in the Misty Fjords and the main body of water has sheer cliffs on both sides. This is no place to visit on a rainy, windy Day!!!

Purple Doily, CQ and Flycatcher

Started another doily with Catherine Austin's book, "A New Twist on Tatting". It is tatted in size 20 purple/white variegated
Progress on the CQ Block. The blue bird outline in blue is hard to see among the silk ribbon flowers.  But it makes it interesting for people to look at and then come back and see something they missed. I have watched people  look at my CQ quilt  and wander off but come back and look at it again.

Fly Catcher watching over the young while the mate hunts for food. The nest is directly below and they are always hungry. I enjoy watching them while swimming.

Nativity Advent Calendar

Advent Nativity Calendar. Need to add Velcro to the back of people and animals and sew down the numbers. Add 4 loops at top for hanger and the backing it will be completed.

Tatted Ghosts for a lady in Tx. Still need one more to tat. Pattern is from Mark Myers and tatted in size 20.
Crazy quilt block for a quilt. The purple by the toadstools is a tatted bunny. I like to add color felt behind my tatting as it defines the character. Humming bird and lady bugs are silk ribbon. The butterfly near the flower is a pattern from Helen Steven's book. The thread is rayon using 1 strand long and short stitch.

The hook rug is almost completed. I have a few more flower and the rest is background. I do not have a rug cutter so all strips are cut with a rotary cutter about 1/8 wide. A lady gave me a bag full of Pendleton Wool scraps today. Nice and clean.

The boys going down to an elderly couple in their 80's and mow the knee deep lawn. Rain every day and it looks like a lush valley here in NM!
Trumpet Vine over the Pergola, looking into the front flower garden
