Lady in the Garden

Lady in the Garden is finished. The background is painted with water colors. The arbor is loaded with spider web roses, spider, butterfly and hummingbird. There are bees on the yellow bush behind the lady. Ants and a snail on the walkway. There is tatting on the umbrella and the edge of her skirt. The stitching is done with hand dyed silk ribbon.

Is the background paper or fabric? Very pretty!

Beautiful!! Adding the tatting sets off the umbrella and dress. Very lovely work!

The material for this project is trigger poplin. I am doing another silk ribbon project with a house and lots of differnt silk ribbon flowers. The material I am using for that project is a cotton/linen. There is no problems with both materials using the water colors and it's fun!!
