Chili Peppers and Stockings

Here are my gifts I have been giving to my tatting friends. The stockings are filled with little things with their initials on them. These are nice, quick patterns from http://www.thisntat.com/motifs/a.html . Red Chilies are New Mexico's number one crop. The pattern was drawn out and made from felt with Lizbeth jellybean edging. For the needle holder I added another felt inside with a needle and a holder for the needle threader.

Very Clever. I've often thought of tatting up chili peppers. I was so disappointed in the green chili crop not doing well this year. We usually buy a 25 lb bag and then freeze and send as gifts to our family in California. I should take some photos of the decorations I made with Colcha Embroidery (Santos mostly) on one side and a tatted motif on the reverse. Made from Felt pieces. It is a no-sew pattern using pinking shears and glue. The 'sewing' is attaching the tatting and doing the colcha embroidery. Happy Holidays, Bev

What a cute idea! The stockings with the tatted initials is a great little gift!! And I love your Red Chilies! The Jellybean color is perfect for this project.

There are chili pepper roasters on every street corner but not this year. Hope there is a better crop next year! I would love to see the Colcha Embroidery. I was going to teach the class but these girls are way into tatting!!! I keep checking your site for the pics. Linda
