Mug Rug
I have a male secret tatted angel and what do you send him???? HUMMMMMMMMM this month I made a mug rug with bits of tatting all over. Mug rugs are the hottest thing on the net. I always have a mug rug/coaster for my cup of tea/coffee.
This is a good idea. I've made a few but not for the men (yet!) I'd be worried about getting spills on the tatting but that's probably because I don't tat. I have managed a picot with the needles!!
If something gets spilled on to it, use a little Shout and throw it into the washer with a load of towels. It will give it some color. I sew my foundation on to a piece of felt then add the backing. Tatting is a very strong lace but be sure ends are secure. I leave tails and sew them to the back and use invisable thread to sew the tatting down.
Linda your tatting is just beautiful. Maybe some day I will give it a whirl. Are there any good how to's to learn how to tat? Mug rug is really cute! Kathy in KY
